Gamle Hvam er et verdifullt gammelt storgårdsanlegg med 1500 år lang historie. Tunet minner om eventyrenes kongsgårder. Slektshistorien kan følges tilbake til 1300 - tallet. Svalgangsbygning fra 1729 med interiører. Hovedbygning fra 1820 med kafé og gammeldags landhandel. Husene står på sin opprinnelige plass. Steinfjøset og låven er fra begynnelsen av 1800 - tallet og rommer samlinger av landbruksredskaper og - maskiner, gamle kjøredoninger samt en rekke forskjellige verksteder. Dyr på tunet om sommeren. Hageanlegg med et stort antall lokale stauder. Museet er tildelt Olavsrosa, Norsk kulturarvs kvalitetsmerke. Det er mange forskjellige arrangementer her beregnet både for barn og voksne. The Cache contains 8 articles for exchange, notebook and pencil. The Gamle Hvam Museum is a highly esteemed ancient farmer’s estate with a history starting 1500 years ago. The yard reminds us on former times’ fairytales’ royal palaces. The family story originates from the 14th century, a house of external gallery fully furnished from 1729, and the main building from 1820 which today also consists of a café and a former days’ general store. Every house is located on its original site. The cowshed of stone and the barn is from the early 1800 hundreds and contain collections of ancient farmer’s equipment and agricultural machinery, horse-drawn vehicles and also former days’ repair shops. During summer time animals are grazing in the fields. You’ll find a beautiful garden of perennials. The museum has been awarded the Rose of Olav – the Norwegian Price of Cultural Quality. There are many events for both children and adults.
