Rev up your
holiday spirit by attending Alaska's Sixth Annual Holiday GeoFest
featuring caching fellowship, a pizza party, games, and door
prizes. The 2011 GeocacheAlaska!, Inc., Board of Directors
will be introduced and the 2010 Alaska geocoins and geopins,
pathtags and the 2011 calendars will be available, so you can take
care of some of your Christmas shopping needs.
The room seats 120
theater style or 72 with tables, so RSVP early (by December 5) so
we can provide chairs for everyone and have enough food to go
around. The meal will feature a variety of pizzas, green
salad, cookies, brownies, lemonade and ice tea for $14 for adults
and $7 for children under 12. Premium Members of GeocacheAlaska! will
receive a $1.50 dinner discount (one discount per
membership). You may now prepay for your dinner and any
GeocacheAlaska! merchandise and renew/create your GeocacheAlaska!
Premium Membership using PayPal or a major credit card by going to
the Geofest Prepay webpage. All cachers who prepay
will receive the GeocacheAlaska! Premium Member price for
merchandise. Those who pick up their merchandise at the event will
have the shipping fee refunded or may pick up an additional pathtag
or pin. To become a Premium Member, cachers may alternatively
pay at the event, download a membership form from the GeocacheAlaska! website, or pay
online via PayPal or a credit card here. Memberships purchased after October 1 are
valid through the following calendar year. Cash or check will
be accepted at the door. (PayPal/credit card may be
available at the door this year...we're still working out the
bugs.)
The dress code is
"Alaskan casual," so wear your favorite holiday threads and bring
your reindeer antlers.
The generous folks
from Accupoint will be present with a goodie bag for
all attendees. There will also be games and prizes for all ages,
including the ever popular GEO-BINGO, which is a fun ice
breaker. A Chinese gift
exchange will be held, so bring a wrapped inexpensive (under
$10) cache swag item or cache container to increase your
fun. Of course, junior cachers are welcome since these
are games the whole family can play! What better way to kick
off the holiday season?
The 2010 Alaska Geocoins, geopins, and pathtags will make
their Alaska debut at the GeoFest. From left to right, top to
bottom, are images of the front of the 2010 bronze geocoin, the
reverse of a bronze geocoin, the holiday edition of the 2010
geocoin, front and back of the 2010 pathtag, the antique bronze and
antique silver 2010 geopins, and the cover of the 2011
calendar. Details on how to
order are now posted on the GeocacheAlaska! geocoin webpage.
