Catch and Release Traditional Cache

This is a nice location, but I do not plan to replace the cache. If someone else would like to take ownership I would be glad to transfer it to you.

This cache is in a small, clear plastic storage box. It is large enough to hold small items. It is located in the Umptanum Recreation area in the Yakima River Canyon.
The Yakima river is well known for its trout fishing, and it it strictly catch and release. You may get to this cache by car or boat. You can even rent a tube upstream and float the river to this cache (as long as your park at the recreation area so that you have transportation when you are done). Any way you get there, it is a beautiful trip along the canyon.
If you travel by boat or tube, pull out at the base of the foot bridge.
The terrain is rated two and half stars stars for a couple of reasons. Seekers arriving by car have to cross the foot bridge. It's one of those suspension bridges that sways when you walk on it. Some people don't particularly care for the sensation. The location is a quarter of a mile from the parking area. The path is loose rock at first, then dirt. The loose rocks can be sharp, so wear good shoes. You can stay on the trail until you are very close to the cache.
This cache would be hard to access if the terrain were snowy or muddy.
Finally, this is on BLM land. They have graciously given permission to place the cache. So please practice cache in, trash out, and be courteous to the other recreational users
