Geocache Description:

This is a 142 Scout Troop cache, located close to one of our camp sites.

A small 450ml clip lock box with a notebook and pencil to record your visit, plus a few items to swap.
This cache is located beside a lesser known path between Skelwith Bridge and Tarn Hows. It is situated above one of the camp sites previously used by the 142nd Sheffield (Fulwood) Scout Troop on a hill known as Stone Chair Hill. We now camp further up the hill on the other side of the farm as this area is part of a stewardship scheme, and the farmer is unable to cut the grass.
Heading South, the path goes through some fields from High Arnside Farm towards a tarn of the same name. The path is easy going although there is a small stream you have to cross before getting to the cache, however this is not usually a very wide or deep stream.
I hope you enjoy finding this cache. The track bears right as you continue south from the cache and takes you towards Tarn Hows.
