Geocache Description:

This cache was created to honor an man who died many years ago. Had it not been for his unselfish dedication to sweeping the streets of Aliquippa to "earn his keep", his memory may have been entirely forgotten.

Mario Ezzo was born in 1875 and he died in 1939 from a tragic accident. Originally he was buried in potters field, but the town of Aliquippa rallied together and came up with the money to give him a decent buriel in St. Joseph's cemetery. They felt that they owed this man a debt for his insistence on "earning" his relief check. When asked, he would say "It (work) makes my bread taste sweeter. I am a man"

Unfortunately, the gravestone for Mario Ezzo has since either been destroyed or has disappeared. This cache is my small way of thanking him and again recognizing him for being a decent human being...even though he died over three quarters of a century ago.

The cache is a regular size clear rubbermaid container. When I placed it, I forgot of all things...a plastic baggie to place the log book in. If anyone has an extra baggie on your hunt, could you please place the log book in there? Thanks. LOL. (I just had back surgery, so I can't get up there again without people yelling at me to take it easy. lol)

Please respect the cemetery.
Do NOT cache at night. Re-hide the container well.
