Geocache Description:

Valle de Viñales

With his bizarre, overgrown green limestone rocks, such as elephant back shaped and often fog shrouded, has the Viñales Valley in Pinar del Río an almost magical effect. The rocks in the area, where the valley is situated, belongs to the geologically oldest part of Cuba. The strongly weathered rocks were once the pillars of an underground cave system. Under the rain by millions the edges of the soft limestone over time have been sanded off really (erosion), so did these bizarre forms. Underground rivers were dug into the soft limestone with underground drainage and huge caverns. With the collapse of the cave ceiling and the further erosion was still visible, characteristic cone rocks, the "Mogotes". They reach a height difference of up to 400 m. Numerous caves and underground rivers are witnesses of this process. Scientists explain the phenomenon as a process of tropical weathering.

In the tourist center at N22° 35.797 W083° 43.185 you can find much more information to the Valle de Viñales and the Mogotes. And now the questions:
1) What are the three most important caves in the Valle de Viñales?
2) 20 meter east from the tourist center there is a tombstone. Who is buried there and what profession the person exercised?
3) Optional, please place a photo of yourself in front of the tourist center in your logentry and email me your answers.
However I will delete the log entry if the answers are not correct.
