Geocache Description:

Small green Lock n Lock.

This is an upgrade of the first geocache we placed. The original site of the geocache was further away than we had intended but the first choice site was rejected. This can now be done with one visit to Rocky Point / Inlet Park. Because its a new puzzle you can get a new find here - and for those who did the last one, you can solve the puzzle before you even get here.

There was a flaw in the original puzzle, although I don't think anyone pointed it out. You only needed to know how many letters were in each word, and that meant you could avoid much (or even all) of the decoding! Hope you like the puzzle!

You don't have to bring your morse code book with you - there is a sign on the wall of the new station-style building with info on morse code and the history of the site. There are two messages (each is two words) you need to decode. The first is on the back of a nautical bench and the second is along the path from beside the bench to the flag pole.

Each letter is given a number value. A=1 to I=9 (and J=0). This repeats from K=1 to T=0 and then U=1 to Z=6.

The final coordinates are at
49 16.ABC North,
122 50.XYZ West

A = 1-8
B = 2-5
C = 3-4

X = (2-6) + (4-2)
Y = (3-3) - 3
Z = 4-5

The pairs of digits mean word and position in the word. So if the 8th letter in the first word was 'C' then A = 1-8 would mean that A = 3. Not all the letters and their associated numbers are in the message - so there is a little arithmetic to do as well. Cache was reloaded with a Tim Card when it was relocated.
