Geocache Description:

Yankee Point, Newfoundland is the proposed site for an under-sea tunnel connecting Newfoundland to Labrador (Point Amour).

In this area, one can find a rare species of plant called Long's Braya, as well as various types of wildlife. This is also a great spot for watching whales and icebergs. Yankee Point is also the location of unmarked graves which have been debated to be either native or French settler graves.

Despite the ongoing destruction of the area due to a rock quarry development, it is still a beautiful area and a great spot to visit.

On a clear day, you can look straight across to Labrador!
