Welcome to a new series of caches that has to be credited, in part, to QuartzCachers and his “hanging series” in Greater Jessieville (Arkansas) Heights.
This ‘trail’ will continue down what is commonly known as the State Line Road due to the fact it travels directly on the state line dividing Louisiana and Arkansas. The name of the series is the “L.A. or LA?” series since the caches will lie either all the way in Arkansas (Lower Arkansas or L.A.) or all the way in Louisiana (LA) since the actual line is the middle of the road. The hint to you as what side of the road will be included in the title based on where the cacher is from. If there was one for me it would be “L.A. or LA? – arkfiremedic”. Well you would then know the cache would be located on the north side or the road (Arkansas side).
This particular portion of the road lies all the way in Arkansas and therefore will honor those cachers I have met on the trail that are not from Louisiana or Arkansas. There will be no particular side of the road based on where they are from. Cachers from states including Washington, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Tennessee will be included. These are all cachers I have met at an event or on the trail. It only seemed logical than to skip this section of road because it was all the way in Arkansas that I could pay tribute to other cachers I have met as well from other states. Since this is ‘extra’ it will include “XTRA” in the title. Hope you enjoy the extra smileys.
The caches will NOT be hard to find. The greatest difficulty will probably be at most a two star rated terrain and a two star rated difficulty. The majority will be “baby soda” bottles (baby cokes, performs, etc. or whatever you know them by). This will be about gathering smileys and paying tribute to some of the finest cachers both Arkansas and Louisiana have to offer.
The trail will begin by paying tribute to those cachers who I have met and/or cached with. To make it fun and entertaining, please tell a little story (preferably a FUNNY story) about the cacher the cache is named after. This is all about the smileys and the fun of geocaching. When we can combine the two, it makes it oh so much better.
Many thanks to TinmanJones for assisting me with placing this series and painting the containers, and 2ter for helping me with the logs and baby cokes!
Please be mindful of hunters in the fall and other creepy, crawly things the rest of the year. Also beware of any poisonous plants that may be near the cache locations.
Please let me know if a cache needs repair or maintenance and I will address it A.S.A.P.
Woodduck870 is the next cacher featured on the trail. Currently Woodduck870 is the president of the Mississippi Geocacher’s Association (MSGA) that I am a proud member of. Woodduck has over 4500 cache finds and 60 hides and is a great ambassador for the sport of geocaching. He even took photographic proof that he had met me at at a recent event to ensure his place on the trail. This is going to be the most eastern cache on the trail and the closest one to Mississippi so he can come find it easier some day. Thank you woodduck870 for what you do for our sport.
