Geocache Description:

The cache is located at a picnic area in the Leschenault Peninsula Conservation Park. Dogs are not allowed on the peninsula as the area has been baited with 1080 poison, so please leave Geopooch at home.

Back in the 1800's Belvidere was very isolated. If someone wanted to send a message across the water, they would use a small fire to create smoke. Hence the name of the cache.

There are barbecues and tables available for use and new toilets are being constructed. The location is very close to the Leschenault Inlet with lots of birds and the occasional dolphin. Sounds like the ideal place for lunch and it certainly is on a warm winter's day. Unfortunately in spring and summer the mosquitoes like it too...so come prepared.

A lot of work is being done to create walking paths, information boards and lookouts. Some of these paths and stairs will take you to the cache. There is no need to bush-bash.

Please replace the cache exactly where you found it.
