This is the seventh in a series of easy "song" caches inviting you to hum a happy tune as you enjoy the beauty of summer.
"Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?"
From a small parking area, you can look "over the rainbow" and down a ways to find a pudding-cup-sized plastic container covered in camouflage tape. The container has a log only with no room for trade items. Please bring your own pen.
I put a difficulty 2 on this cache because of a high muggle factor, safety issues near a busy commuter road and because there is a daycare center nearby. USE STEALTH and CAUTION and watch that children stay away from the road.
While I didn't spot any bluebirds, you may see other "Birds" as they take off and land.
Over the Rainbow became Judy Garland's signature song after she sung it in the movie The Wizard of Oz. The song is number one of the "Songs of the Century" list compiled by the Recording Industry Association of America and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The American Film Institute also ranked Over the Rainbow the greatest movie song of all time on the Institute's list of "100 Years...100 Songs". It was adopted as a symbol of the United States by American troops in Europe in World War II along with Irving Berlin's "White Christmas.".
FYI--my husband, JBT, knows nothing about these caches (surprise, dear!) but I hope he'll be among those who enjoy them while I'm traveling out of town. To assure everyone that there was no advance notice to JBT, I'm hereby asking him to wait until someone else gets the FTF before he visits the caches.
