Lamont Buttons Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email) within the next 30 days, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to the village of Lamont (formerly called Steele‘s Landing-1835). This cache is at a very small park off the boulevard in Lamont. This park is a small piece of land donated by Ernest Stowe in the memory of Thomas B. Woodbury, who donated 80 acres to build the CITY of Lamont back in 1851.He was hoping to build a city as big as Grand Rapids.

Just down the street from the park is a nursing home that was the site of a button factory along the Grand River. Clam shells along the river where used to make the buttons.

Therefore, is a Button Cache. Please bring your best buttons! We are seeing how many different buttons we can collect in honor of the Lamont Button Factory.

There is a small parking lot for 2 car off Commercial St to park.

Have fun! I can’t wait to see all the buttons!
Congrats to bretina - FTF!
