This cache is located almost across the street from St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, New York. This stretch of highway allows the traveler to stop along Lake Erie for a peaceful, tranquil rest at the shore to grasp the beauty of the lake and, in the evening, to enjoy a most striking, beautiful sunset.
St. Francis HS is a well-known private college-prep school for boys which was founded in 1927. Named after St. Francis of Padua, it was founded by Father Justin Figas who in 1924 was able to get a group of Polish-American businessmen from western New York to raise funds for it's construction. While in this area, take a drive through the school's grounds--it's quite impressive!
The cache is located in a very natural spot, which would please St. Francis.
