EdgeMonks: I started on the repairs to this cache, but I don't have the time right now to fix it. It might come back some time, but not for quite awhile. Sorry about that, I'm happy that many of you enjoyed it, and I wish that someone had not used their boot to access the log.

Geocache Description:


This cache has been placed for the CCARS10 event, held August 28-29, 2010. This cache was released to the public on August 26, but should not be located prior to noon, August 28. The caches for the event are released early so that the caching community has an opportunity to solve puzzles and plan their routes prior to the event start. .

This cache is part of the Mike Holmes series of caches in which you need a tool to open the container.



You have to determine the proper tool from the information provided.

The cache was constructed in a manner that you might see once in a while, but it is rare. The bottom of the container holds the cache, and if you apply the correct tool, it will fall nicely out onto the earth. We were inspired by a similar hide in Seattle, and we have placed it here for your enjoyment, with a little extra “enjoyment" brought to you by an idea from the Popular Science mag. You might find some information, or simply waste a lot of time, by checking out our finds in Seattle, or by a quick Google search on the net.

The hide is not tough.

Opening it is another matter.

Remember to bring your special tool. ONLY the specified tool will work, cheap knockoffs holding up your children’s art work will NOT work.

If you don’t bring a tool with you, we have provided a small toolbox near by. The tool box is a 35 mm film container, camo taped. You’ll find it at the base of two poplars, uphill about 4 metres from the cache, beside a rock. There is some pink ribbon about halfway from between the tool box and the cache.

When used properly, the tool will allow for cache extraction. You may have to encourage it a little by lightly tapping up on the cache if it doesn’t drop on its own.
