Wand im Sauerland”
Wir möchten Euch
einen interessanten Erdaufschluss zeigen. Bei diesem Aufschluss
handelt es sich um einen Kalksteinbruch. Ihr seht einen klüftigen
Kalkstein bis Kalksteinmergel, dessen Schichten an der Abbauwand
durch tektonische Kräfte steil gestellt und gefaltet sind. Typisch
für solch ein Gestein sind die hellgraugelbe Farbe und der
muschelige Bruch. Die Verfärbungen auf den Schichtflächen wurden
vermutlich durch eindringende Eisen- und Manganoxide verursacht. Im
Sauerland sind Kalksteine sehr häufig, sie stammen überwiegend aus
dem Mittel- bis Oberdevon und sind damit etwa 390 bis 360 Millionen
Jahre alt. Der Hellefeld-Kalk stammt aus dem Karbon und ist etwa
337 Millionen Jahre alt. Er kommt nur hier in der Gegend von
Hellefeld vor, daher sein Name. Der Steinbruch liegt am Wanderweg
„Homertweg“. Er verbindet den „Ruhrtalweg“
mit dem „Rothaarsteig“. Der Steinbruch selbst liegt
nicht im Naturschutzgebiet. Die Niederwälder um den Steinbruch
herum liegen im Naturschutzgebiet. Seid bitte vorsichtig beim
Betreten des Steinbruchs, er bröckeln immer mal wieder kleinere
Steine aus der Wand.
Fuer die Logerlaubnis schreibt uns auf folgende Fragen
bitte die Loesung:
Schaut Euch die abgebrochenen Steine an. Es gibt grau,
weiß, gelbe Gesteine und graue Gesteine mit wildem farbigem
Muster.

Antwort entspricht dem Buchstaben Y
2. Wie lang ist der Querbalken der Schranke (ohne das Gewicht), die
in der Nähe steht L= _ _ _cm? z.B. 498 Wie hoch H = _ cm (z.B. 15)
und wie breit ist der Querbalken B= _ cm (z.B. 2)? Antwort: L _ _ _

Es ware schoen, wenn Ihr ein Foto von Euch mit dem
GPS-geraet vor dem Steinbruch einstellt.

We want to show
you an interesting quarry. It is a limestone quarry. You see a
fractured limestone and marl. The rock layers are placed vertically
and folded by tectonic forces . Typical of such rocks are the light
gray, yellow color and conchoidal fracture.The coloration was
probably caused by migrating iron and manganese oxides. In
Sauerland limestones are very common, they come mainly from the
middle to upper Devonian and therefore about 390-360 million years
old. The Hellefeld-lime is from the Carboniferous, about 337
million years old. He is only here in the neighborhood of
Hellefeld, hence its name. The quarry is located on the trail
"Homertweg”. It connects the trail “Ruhrtalweg”
with the trail “Rothaarsteig”. The quarry itself is not
in the nature reserve. The wood around the quarry is in the nature
reserve. Be careful when entering the quarry, there always break
stones from the wall.
