Nel cuore delle Alpi Apuane, Stazzema è il capoluogo di comune
della più (tristemente) famosa Sant'Anna di Stazzema, che dista
circa 30km.
Siamo nel mezzo delle Alpi Apuane, vicinissimi al mare ma già
oltre i 400 metri sul livello del mare, immersi nel verde e
attorniati da bellezze architettoniche e naturali che riconducono
sempre al duro lavoro di “cavare il Marmo”.
A darci il benvenuto è la Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, con
l'ampio prato antistante detto “Il Saldone” che si
sporge sulla vallata, offrendo una vista mozzafiato e fuori dal
tempo.
Sulla destra troviamo il monumento ai caduti delle guerre alle
spalle del quale, nel boschetto, abbiamo posto la cache.
Guardando la fontana e la statua, procedere salendo sulla destra
verso una piccola area attrezzata per i picnic e lungo un muro, di
antiche pietre e blocchetti di marmo, i più temerari troveranno la
cache.
La distanza dalla strada è breve, pochi metri, ma in salita e su
terreno sconnesso, per un sottobosco praticabile ma certamente non
pulito come un pratino all'inglese... abbondanti i cespugli e i
ricci delle castagne.

In the heart of the Apuan Alps, Stazzema is the capital of the most
common (sadly) famous Sant'Anna di Stazzema, which is about
30km.
We are in the middle of the Apuan Alps, near the sea but already
over 400 meters above sea level, surrounded by greenery, beautiful
architecture and natural that always lead back to the hard work of
"quarry marble".
To welcome us is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, with its
wide lawn known as "Il Saldone" which leans on the valley, offering
a breathtaking and timeless landscape.
On the right is the memorial of the wars behind which, in the
woods, we placed the cache.
Looking at the fountain and statue, proceed going right onto a
small area for picnics and along a wall of ancient stones and
blocks of marble, the most daring will find the cache.
The distance from the road is short, a few meters, but uphill on
rough terrain, for a viable undergrowth but certainly not as clean
as an English lawn ... abundant bushes and chestnut curls.
