Geocache Description:

Mersham has been a farming community with close ties to the local market town of Ashford.
The small village dates back to Saxon times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The village was owned by the Archbishops of Canterbury for over 500 years.
The beautiful Church of St. John the Baptist, which stands on the site of a Saxon church, is part Norman.
There are two water mills on the East Stour river, one of which, Swanton, is still working. It is thought that the village gives rise to the surname Marshman.

For now the container is a micro … to be reviewed - The final location is a short walk from the phone box - where you can park - but it's a busy little road - what with the pub and village shop :-)

We were presently surprised when we found this area - hope you are
