Geocache Description:

Part 2 in a series of Horcruxes, this cache is situated near a tumble-down shack, whose remains can only be seen by wizards and witches. Dark magical objects are powerful and unpredictable, so take extra caution, and do not be tempted to use this deathly hallow in the nearby cemetery. Acromantula in particular seem to be drawn to this area, so beware. Bring your own pen as the cache contains a log only. Please replace cache exactly as you found it. Thanks!

While in the area, you might wish to venture to another nearby cache aptly named "Spooky Forest" (GC1H332).

SPOILER ALERT for the rare individual who has not already read the Harry Potter series, you may not wish to read the following information.

From (visit link)

“A Horcrux is an object in which a Dark wizard or witch has hidden a fragment of his or her soul for the purpose of attaining immortality.[1] Constructing a Horcrux is considered Dark magic of the foulest, most evil kind, as it violates laws of nature and morality, and requires a horrific act as well as murder to accomplish. The first Horcrux was created by Herpo the Foul.[2] Lord Voldemort is the only known wizard to have created more than one.”

Horcrux #2: The Gaunt Ring
First appeared: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Destroyed: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (but we see it destroyed in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)
Hidden: Gaunt House
After murdering: Tom Riddle (Sr.)

The ring belonged to the family of Tom Riddle's mother, the Gaunts. This side was the side that were wizards and were related to Salazar Slytherin. In "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," Dumbledore is seen wearing the ring, before and after we see the memory in which it is first introduced. In "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," we find out that Dumbledore put the ring on his hand before destroying the Horcrux, therefore killing the hand. Snape told him that he had about one year to live. Snape killed him near to the end of the one year.

The ring was also a deathly hallow, the Resurrection Stone. It brings the dead "back to life", although it only shows you a shadow of them. It was hidden in the Snitch that Harry carried around with him throughout Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He used it to bring back his mother and father, Sirius, and Lupin to give him moral support while facing his death against Lord Voldemort.
