Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

Time for some Spring clean-up before the mosquitoes fly and the cruise ships arrive.

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of a timely response to a prior Reviewer Note. If the owner would like to have it reinstated, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

You come on a Ranger's quest, seeking hidden things in a place out of high legend, as recounted by one JRR Tolkien from his book "The Fellowship of the Ring". The power of times past cling to this site even today.

Welcome to a small forested rise in the midst of a circular enclosure. Remnants of the Gray Company of the Rangers of the North believe this secluded place is all that remains of Cerin Amroth - legendary heart of Lothlorien - a place described at the end of the Third Age by Aragorn as the 'heart of Elvendom on earth'.

This location seems to measure up to the old descriptions - a small rise capped by unusual trees, awash with flowers in the summertime and centered in a circular enclosure. Today it slumbers mostly unnoticed in this corner of the city, but for the presence of treasure hunters like you.

Your pathway here has been chosen to provide you as much delight and mystery as the find itself. With roar and rumble creatures of various sizes pass by, above and nearby, seen and unseen. Avoid them all, and stray not from the path provided for you until the very last dozen feet. You must not cross any other roadways or railways to reach this place - use only the pathway provided, for your own safety and to experience fully the journey chosen for you.

Access is from the southwest, along a paved trail which traverses three tunnels (75' / 50' / 200' in length) enroute to the low rise. You enter Cerin Amroth's enclosure from its northwest corner, and must stay on the pathway until your GPS tells you the cache is hidden to the west.

This is a remote place on foot - keep your wits about you, watching for interlopers of the two and four-footed variety. Enhance your experience by walking this path in the fellowship of companions, in the manner of those who've traveled here long ago. Tread lightly in your search, leaving no trace of your hunt amongst the flowers and foliage. Your instructions and the clue will guide you to success.
