Church micro which is first in a series that will take you on a walk around the area.
35mm film container placed just outside back gate to the church on a public footpath.
The church was largely rebuilt in 1894 but some Norman decoration and a 13th century lancet window were included as evidence of an earlier church. The 15th century perpendicular tower has two pairs of sheep shears carved on the west face just above the top of the north-west buttress probably indicating funding by wealthy local wool or cloth merchants.
The handsome clock on the3 north face was installed by parishioners to mark Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
Graves in the churchyard include that of Colonel JP Carne VC DSO, CO of the 1st Battalion the Gloucestershire Regiment at the battle of Imjin River in Korea.
The Cranham circuit is an energetic 5 miles. From the church go down the road to the footpath to the left of Manns Court then follow the field path via an old mill to Tocknell's Court.
