Sapience Trek: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Sterling Center Canoe Launch is located on the East Sterling Creek. There is a small parking lot to search for the Seaway Trail cache. Caning, kayaking and fishing can be done at this location. The Sterling Nature Center is about 1 mile to the east, where you will find a visitor center, hiking trails, Lake Ontario shoreline and bluffs to explore. There is a number 4 punch with a bone design at this location in a large Seaway Trail container.
This is a description from the Sterling Nature Center website.
“This unique park features glacially-formed bluffs, with scenic vistas of Lake Ontario. Its varied terrain of wetlands, vernal ponds, woodland, creeks and meadows is home to diverse species of wildlife and plants. This diversity of land and species offers numerous opportunities for education and recreation. It is our challenge, to foster a positive balance between peoples use of the land, while preserving its natural habitat.”
If you happen to be in the area and have a little extra time The Sterling Renaissance Summer Festival is walking or boating distance from the cache. It operates only on weekends in the summer but there are several special events during the year.
This cache is placed as part of the Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail. If you are interested in participating in the Geotrail, please visit www.seawaytrail.com/geotrail for a list of locations where you can pick up a free copy of the official Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail Logbook.
