Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Pa State Game lands. Please be aware that there may be hunter in the area and be sure to wear your orange and obey all game land rules. This container can hold small flat items. Please be careful when handling the container.

There is a cache nearby called “Stonewall Jackson” located in Jackson Township in the State Game Lands # 186. I had this cache container with me and have been looking for the right place to hide it. Since the other cache does not mention anything about Stonewall I thought this would be fun place to put one with a very short history lesson.

Stonewall Jackson was one of the best Generals of the Civil war era. He was considered a great leader for the South. General Lee thought of him as his right arm man. He died from complications after being a victim of friendly fire. He was shot by a member of the 18th North Carolina Infantry Regiment. The south struggled to replace him. He has been quoted as saying “I see from the number of physicians that you think my condition dangerous, but I thank God, if it is His will, that I am ready to go” from his death bed.

Ok that is enough history for me ?

This cache is located in State Game Lands and I strongly recommend that you and your dogs wear orange when caching in game lands. You never know who may be hunting so please keep yourself safe. I also recommend that you do not do this cache during the opening days of any major game season and avoid it completely during deer season. Please check with the Pa Game Commission web page for the current hunting season information. The PA Game Commission is adamant about wearing orange during deer season. Except on Sundays, anyone present on State game lands from November 15 through December 15 inclusive when not engaged in lawful hunting or trapping MUST wear a minimum of 250 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange-colored material on the head, chest and back combined or, in lieu thereof, a hat of the same colored material. The material shall be worn so it is visible in a 360° arc.

You have your choice of two different parking areas to approach this cache. I am not sure there is an advantage to either and if you have not completed the other caches in these game lands there will be plenty to occupy your time during your hike from either. Entering from either parking area there are nice trails to follow until you are very close to the GZ, at which point there is currently no trail to the cache itself. The cache currently blends in nicely with its surrounding. There is dense cover in the area and while I did my best to get accurate cordinates I am sure they will vary for every cacher so this one may take some hunting.

Parking can be found at N40 58.706/ W075 20.114 or at N40° 59.712 / W075° 20.109.
