I decided to place this cache in honor of the Geobash III and it's attendees. The Geobash III was held near Spearfish on August 20-22, 2010.
The cache is located along the scenic False Bottom Creek via Maitland Road. There is a parking spot near a group of boulders just off the road. Just follow the footpath a short distance to the cache. There is a creek crossing which adds to the fun. Currently you can cross the creek by simply boulder hopping across the man made rock bridge. During certain times of the year though, the water level could be impassable or you just might have to get your feet wet. Once across the creek the trail opens up into a small field of wild flowers with the backdrop of the high canyon walls. There is a FTF prize of a non-activated Black Hills Geocoin. Be sure to re-hide the cache well as not to get muggled. Thanks and enjoy!
