Geocache Description:

Nimbin Rocks!

The Nimbin Rocks are towing reminants of lava, formed when nereby Mount Warning Volcano was active - 20 million years ago.

The three most prominent extrusions are known by the locals as 'Thimble', 'Cathedral' and 'Needle'.

They are a spectacular site from many of the roads leading in to Nimbin, and GZ offers a fantastic view of these massive pieces of rhyolite.

Nimbin Rocks is an aboriginal sacred site of the Bundjalung people. It was initiation grounds for young boys, and was believed that the Nmbngee (Clever Men) lived nearby.

There is no access to the rocks; there's a dedicated viewing area 3km south of Nimbin, on the Lismore Road - but you'll get an even better look at them as you head toward GZ!

Cache is a small PVC container. Be aware that there may be some long grass around GZ - like most places in Northern NSW, be wary of snakes in the warmer months.

You don't need to go through any fences, or enter private property to find the cache.
