How to get
there: To reach the
trailhead, you have to enter a toll road. Leave National route 52 at Kollstad and take the
public road system uphill to the toll station at Ås (waypoint
below) at
N 61º 04.084 E 9º
11.349
on the private road to Etnelien
(toll is NOK 50 in 2010, cards accepted). From here it is around 6
km to drive to the parking/trailhead.
The hike from parking and up is
around 2.5 kilometers, which gives a total of 5
kilemoeters.
Parking:Parking is
available just 50 meters east of the trailhead, so the trailhead
coordinates can be used to find the parking.
Footwear:
In good weather good joggers will do,
but I recommend light hiking boots.
The cache:
is located a vest of the cairn og the
highest peak. It is a military one-man food can. It has the usual
content. The cache is not
directly visible. Please replace the cover stones properly.
The cache is not winter safe, I think.
Warning: The last
500 meters the ridge is pretty narrow (100 meters) and there
are vertical terrain on both siden. Kees to the top of the ridge in
bad weather. If you follow the souther side of the ridge, as I did,
so people will find it a little airy. Keep track of dogs and
children.
