Big Millhole Woods is part of the
Woodland Welcome scheme and is crosses with numerous public and
permissive paths. All of the caches are places very close to the
path so as not to offend or disturb the natural surroundings. There
will be no need to trample on the carpet of bluebells in
Spring.
The woodland is very mixed with oak, pine, beach
and yew etc. and will be a picture in Autumn. We have frequently
seen deer while walking here. The walk which should take you about
90 minutes or so at a leisurely pace is extremely dog-friendly with
no stiles and no livestock and only a 150 meter section of a very
quite lane to worry about. You are therefore quite likely to
encounter some dog walking
'muggles'.
Although through woods, the paths are reasonably
wide so GPS signal is generally good. The positioning of the caches
should keep you on the correct path. Some paths will be muddy in
winter. Regrettably this series is not accessible to wheelchair
users.
There is off road parking for a few cars at N51°

Good luck and...
Enjoy!
