ST: Moody Falls: SLR Traditional Cache
RussellM: Cache location was searched July 4th without luck. Given my current distance from this location, I must archive it in the hopes another catcher can use this location.

Geocache is located along the Raquette River, just off of Rt. 56. Terrain is relatively easy, however the lack of a well defined trail makes this cache a little challenging. Upon reaching the GZ, you will be required to climb onto a large rock looking out over the water. By approaching from the backside, it is a easy walk up to the top.
The round trip hike will be close to one mile with much of that mile spent along the river. Technically, this trail is a canoe carry giving paddlers the opportunity to walk around the falls/rapids. The trail from the road to the water’s edge is well maintained and marked, however it becomes more challenging after that. From the water, parallel the water (heading upstream) on the equivalent of a “herdpath”. The path splits, though all portions go to the same location. Due to the short distance you have to travel and their close proximity to the water, there should be no issues navigating the trails. I find it easier to always take the “high road”.
Currently, the trail is marked only by a sign along the road. The trail is well trodden, if not a little overgrown. Wear long pants or plan to fight the occasional bramble.
Cache is winter accessible, however it becomes more challenging. Trails built into the side of the slope and the actual location of the cache will require skilled use of snow shoes as well as poles. While it is certainly possible and would result in a amazing view, please don’t push your limits.
