Geocache Description:

NOTE: As of 1-03-21 Please note the change in #1 in the description.

This is a "drive the route" Letterbox cache. I will give you directions for driving (expect to solve problems for some of the steps/turns) and when you reach the final destination you'll be very near the final container.

THIS IS A THEMED CACHE -- MODES OF TRANSPORTATION. THE LETTERBOX CONTAINS A STAMP THAT MATCHES THE THEME. It is one of the valley's more unique modes of transportation. If you have a letterbox stamp, please stamp the log and stamp your passbook with the letterbox "modes of transportation" stamp. DO NOT take the stamp as a trade item!

Here in Napa, I presume that you probably have not stopped to consider how many modes of transportation are available to us. Hopefully, after this little trip, you will.

1. Start at the listed cords. RESET YOUR TRIP ODOMETER TO "0.0" You will need your GPS SET TO THE COMPASS PAGE!!! However, stay on ROADS for Steps 1-5 and park legally! Which mode of transportation is mentioned in the title of this location? If the answer is "CAR" then go towards bearing 260 deg (0 degrees is north) (towards Hwy 29) If the answer is "TRAIN" then go towards bearing170 deg (towards downtown).

2. After .5 miles you will be crossing another "track" of transportation. If you go ON TOP of the train track, turn towards bearing 355 deg at the next road turn. If you go UNDER the train track, turn towards bearing 175 deg at the next road turn.

3. At .9 miles there is a Bus stop. There is a number on the sign at the Bus stop telling you which bus route this stop is for. If the answer is 9, turn towards bearing 260 deg at the next street, even if it is into a neighborhood. If the answer is 10, continue straight ahead.

4. At mile 1.3 you will see a fire station on the left. You will likely need to turn onto that street to read what is the Firestation NUMBER? ( YOU WILL RETURN TO THE STREET YOU WERE TRAVELING ON BEFORE.) If the answer is "2" then the final container is at a location whose business name begins with the letter "W". If the answer is "3" then the final container is at a location whose business name begins with the letter "E". If the answer is "4" then the final container is at a location whose business name begins with the letter "S".

5. Continue down the street you were traveling in Step #3 until you reach the business that begins with the letter solved for in Step 4. You may park in the parking space here. You will walk on the SIDEWALK until you are within 10-20' of the final container.

6. If you are at a "W" TRAIN STATION, then your final container is at the nearest guardrail, south end. If you are at an "E" BUS STATION, then your final container is at the base of the furthest north (3rd) lamp post that is accessible from the street (not behind the fence). If you are at a "S" Gas Station, the final container is a biggish hanger in the bush furthest to the right, immediately south of the Air pump/water pump.
