Geocache Description:

A simple offset cache, Waypoint 1 is located at the memorial stone to a local Aboriginal elder, Hannibal Hamilton. Plenty of room to park the geovehicle safely off highway but watch the kids near the busy road.

Hannibal Hamilton was head of the 'Doomut' tribe in the 1800s. He was renowned for his tracking skills and assisted the early explorers who came to the area. He was also known as a mediator between aboriginal and the non aboriginal settlers. Hannibal Hamilton is buried in the nearby fields on private property and this stone commemorates his life and serves as a reminder of his nearby grave.

The memorial stone at WP 1 lists the date of his death as AB/CD/EFGH (date/month/year).
The cache is located at S35.EB.GCC
