Geocache Description:





Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Its mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no geocachers have gone before.

Capt. Kirk: Captain to crew. Those of you who have served for long on this vessel have encountered alien life-forms. You know the greatest danger facing us is ourselves, an irrational fear of the unknown. But there's no such thing as the unknown - only things temporarily hidden, temporarily not understood. In most cases we have found that intelligence capable of a civilization is capable of understanding peaceful gestures. Surely a life-form advanced enough for space travel is advanced enough to eventually understand our motives. All decks stand by. Captain out.

Moments later as the starship enterprise approaches the alien planet earth Capt. Kirk announces to his crew on the bridge: Spock, McCoy and Lt. Bailey. We must make our way to transporter room immediately. We will beam ourselves down to planet earth to find a container, sign the log and swap artifacts.

They ran down to the transporter room where Scotty was waiting for his Captains instructions.

Capt. Kirk to Scotty: Punch in the following co-ordinates (S 34° 06.668’ E 018° 27.700’) which will beam us to the top of the gulley of doom.

While they were quickly assembling under their respective transporter modules Spock says to Capt. Kirk: I have a funny feeling about this. Kirk replied with a grin: I thought you didn’t have feelings.....

Seconds later they are standing above the gulley of doom. Capt Kirk announces to his team: Arm your phasers, watch out for Klingons and above all, be careful!

They start descending the gulley while looking watchfully out at this foreign world.

Spock: There appears to be no intelligent life-forms on this planet. Let’s make our way around the corner to the left and under the rock bridge to the other side.

After staying out of sight of potential Klingons and successfully walking underneath the rock bridge they came to a clearing on the other side. Further conversation then followed:

Kirk: What would you say the odds are, on us finding this cache?
Spock: Difficult to be precise, Captain. I should say approximately seven thousand eight hundred twenty four point seven to one.
Kirk: Difficult to be precise? Seven thousand eight hundred and twenty four to one?
Spock: Seven thousand eight hundred twenty four point seven to one.
Kirk: That's a pretty close approximation.
Spock: I endeavour to be accurate.
Kirk: You do quite well.


After finding the small container with a few foreign artifacts and having signed the captain’s log with the correct Stardate it was time to head back to the SS Enterprise.

Capt. Kirk to Starship Enterprise: Beam us up Scotty – we have what we came for!

Back on the Starship enterprise after another successful expedition Capt Kirk announces: Warp Speed, Mr. Sulu – it’s time to move on to the next cache located at St. James Peak.

Scotty could be heard shouting from the engine room: She canna take any more, Captain, she’s gonna blow!
