This cache is one of 75 caches that are being placed along the Seaway Trail. There are 75 caches along the trail with 15 caches in each geographical region. All the caches in this series will be designated with ST (for Seaway Trail) then their name ‘WAORGANY’s Hot Air Balloon cache’ followed by an area designation such as ELO (Eastern Lake Ontario). So for example, it would be titled as such: ST-WAORGANY’s Hot Air Balloon Cache-ELO This cache welcomes you to the Jefferson County Area. Jefferson County, NY is situated on the Eastern Shores of historic Lake Ontario. In this area their a numerous recreation locations. You can enjoy, fishing, hunting, boating, historic sites, and there are things to do, and places to see year round. Some of my favorite areas in this region include Southwick’s and Westcott State parks. Both of these great locations have pristine sandy beach’s that are only found in this part of lake Ontario.

This cache ST-Fish On!!!! Sandy Creek-ELO, brings you to another great fishing destination. During Salmon season this spot is packed!!! With both anglers and fish!!! This cache is very close to the parking area along route 3, but it is very thick and dense vegetation. At times the water can be very high in this spot. The cache is tied off to ensure that it doesn’t float away and off into nearby lake Ontario. As always CITO, bring your bug spray, camera, and enjoy this paradise and a great stroll to a fun cache!!! Happy Caching, Cache ON!!! This cache contains a unique hole punch which must stay with the cache. Use this hole punch in space # 14 on the Eastern Lake Ontario Region page of your Official Great Lakes Seaway Trail Logbook. This hole punch is NOT a trade item. "
