This will be the 6th Annual edition of the annual Labour Day Weekend Event and will be held on 5 September 2010.
The latest version of the LMCC will be held at Goose River Lodges with registration starting at 2PM. The Meet & Greet will be held in the conference building near the front gate entrance. The organizers wish to thank the great folks at Goose River Lodges for their support of the events put on by the Big Land Geocachers.
This will be the 6th Event since we started in 2005 and we are pleased to be your hosts again. There is plenty of room for cachers to meet and greet and swap many geocaching stories. The cabin is equipped with a fridge and stove as well as a fireplace, and a couple of tables and some chairs.
The Event will start at 1:44PM with registration and the search for the caches in the area. There will be 4 new caches released that day in conjunction with the event. There will be tables set up to display various cache containers. We are looking for cachers to bring innovative containers and hiding ideas. Also, there is wireless internet available on-site.
GEOCOINS & TRAVEL BUGS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO JOIN IN THE FUN.
There will be a table where everyone can view TBs and coins for trading, discovering and grabbing. As usual, there will be a HUGE cache container loaded with goodies that everyone is free to take to get their own cache started.
There are at least 10 caches within 5km of the site for those who would like to rack up their experience level. Plan on having a barbecue (BYOF - Bring Your Own Food) as there will be a BBQ unit available. There will be hotdogs for the kids so bring them along too. The organizers will look after the hotdogs, condiments and drinks, and a few salads. There will be a nominal fee for the Event that can be paid on the day.
Please let the organizers know if you are planning to attend by signing up below. This gives an idea as to how many cachers we can expect. This is a great opportunity to meet the other cachers in the area, be they old or young, veteran or newbie. Thanks to the efforts of ArcticNomad & Avalanche, Volanges, Labrador Wild Man, VO2WW, Labrador Retriever and all the others who have been promoting our sport/hobby/habit/obsession over the past years. I hope that the other WILDMAN shows up with a pocket full of NANOs. I know there must be at least 100 cachers in the Lake Melville area to look for the over 300 caches. All ages are welcome and this will be a family-type gathering.
SO COME ON OUT AND ENJOY THE DAY.
Long range weather calls for possibility of rain or a hurricane, so dress for the weather.
C U THERE.
