Is it really that easy? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

schnuz: I've been looking and thinking about this one for far too long now as has kindly been pointed out [:(]. I liked the concept which is why it has been hard to let go, but let's face it GZ is nothing like it was when the cache was originally set, even despite the first move [:(]. Every time I have passed (none recorded here and not all recorded elsewhere) I have looked to see if I can move it and still keep the same original idea intact but unfortunately all of the lighter material has been slowly removed by foragers [:(]. The heavier stuff has also moved [:O], I suspect youths larking about as it was over the fence and in the Goit and it was too heavy for me to retrieve [:O] [:(]. GZ is now pretty barren [:(] and proximities prevent another move within the general area [:(]. I could replace it with a bog standard cache but that would be a little naff and certainly not in keeping with the original concept so I feel it's time to finally let go. I do hope to resurrect the general concept, but it does mean finding the right place that is local and not on the nearest mass landowner who won't give permission to place at this time.

With a heavy heart and a small tear, I do believe it is finally time to let this one go to rest [:(]. Thanks to all who came and found it, special thanks to those who managed more than TFTC in their logs, an essay isn't expected [;)] but a paragraph is always appreciated [^]. So long and farewell for this cache [:(].

Cheers

Schnuz.

Geocache Description:

Feel free to post long logs, they are definately appreciated.

This is a puzzle cache with a difference, see if you can work it out! The cache is at the listed coordinates but may be difficult to find. Another cache along the new Goit bridle way linking Blooming Bluebells (Oreo-Cookies) with "A room with a view". Be aware of the tree cover and GPS fix is flakey at the best of times.

The bridle way stretches from Brinscall, past White Coppice cricket ground, and ends at Anglezarke. It follows the route of the Goit, which is a man made stream (or technically a canal) that links the Roddlesworth and Anglezarke reservoirs. It has replaced the old footpath, which did get extremely wet and boggy, but which can still be seen in some places where the new parts company with the old. It is a crush and run type of surface that is accessible to push chairs, wheel chairs, cyclists (but not suitable for skinny road wheels, chubby mtb type only!) and horses. Please be aware that it does follow a water course which is not overly deep but it has very steep high banks in places. It can be a lovely walk (especially if you can avoid the herds of muggles) with plenty of flora and fauna to observe. There are small trout in the Goit, squirrels, deer, woodpeckers, cuckoos, bluebells, I think you get the idea. It can be easy to get carried away on this path and end up going further than you really intended, be warned! I hope you enjoy this walk as much as we do.

Cheers

Schnuz.
