RIVERBEND CONSERVANCY

The Milwaukee River is one of the region's most important natural resources. At 88, acres, Riverbend Conservancy is one of the few tracts of undeveloped land along the Milwaukee River in Washington County. Over one mile of the shoreline was preserved in 2001 when Riverbend was puchased by the OWLT. The natural streamside vegitation provides ideqal habitat for waterfowl, belted kingfishers, and herons. The floodplain forests, dominated by hackberry and swamp white oak, is home to such bird species as warbling vireos, orchard orioles, and red-bellied woodpeckers.
First cache at this location. Not winter friendly. Best not to search in the dark for this one due to the barbed-wire in the area.
Permission to hide cache on this property given by Shawn Graff, Executive Director of the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust
.
Congrats, sipafz on the FTF.
