Discovery Bay Reservoir was built in the early 1980s to provide
residential water supply for the Discovery Bay residential
privately.
Discovery Bay was less population in the initial period and it was
not cost-effective to built a water supply system by the Water
Supplies Department in Hong Kong, and hence called for the
developers on their own water supply,
At December 2000, the Water Supplies department introduced the
storage in the Tai Lam Chung Reservoir, through the pipeline inside
the Discovery Bay Tunnel to the local user, Discovery Bay
reservoirs only used for flushing and irrigation flower only
now.
