Geocache Description:

Quick cache-n-dash. Accessible to all. Parking before or after cache site.

Concrete Dash.

This is my first cache and wanted it to be a simple one.

There is space to park before and after this cache site for one vehicle. This cache is accessible to all.

The road next to the cache site used to be concrete, hence the name of the cache.

Looking south you will see the Severn estuary.

The estuary has one of the highest tidal ranges in the world — about 15 meters (49 ft). The estuary's funnel shape, its tidal range, and the underlying geology of rock, gravel and sand, produce strong tidal streams and high turbidity, giving the water a notably brown coloration.

Looking to the north you will see what used to be RAF St Athan.

St Athan was the largest station in the RAF in terms of personnel from about 1940 to the end of the millennium. At its peak, there were 14,000 personnel present, and enclosed an area of about 405 hectares with a 9.6 kilometer perimeter boundary.
