On the Wheal Uny site to the south of Redruth
Wheal Uny - A Mining Trail, A Lock and Lock style container hidden in a area with bushes, trees and uneven ground. Paths are not really suiable for wheel chairs but ok for a pushchair/stroller (I had my little terror with me when i placed this one!) Please note, The site has shafts and mineworkings, all of which are fenced / capped and safe, however certain areas have large steep slopes. The terrain is also very uneven off path and care should be taken when walking through heather etc... Parking: No Parking Onsite but 3 footpaths lead to site from various directions (Short walks) A good way to visit the Wheal Uny mines is to park your vehicle near St Uny church and walk up to the mines from there. The Cache CO-ORDS TAKEN FROM PATH (The cornish Way) Cache Location : Standing on path - face up hill and cache within 20 feet on right hand side. Be sure to explore the engine houses!
