Hjorteds reningsverk
I Västerviks kommun finns 18 stycken kommunala reningsverk varav Hjorted är en av dessa. Slam, rens och sand ifrån reningsverken tas om hand på Målserums avfallsanläggning. Efter kompostering kan slammet användas som konstruktionsmaterial till täckning av den gamla deponin. Visst slam kan återföras till jordbruket.
Rens från sandfång tvättas i en speciell anläggning vid Lucerna avloppsreningsverk.
Därefter kan materialet användas som konstruktionsmaterial.
Gallerrenset pressas och lämnas sedan som brännbart avfall.
Polypodium vulgare växer i detta område. Av stor betydelse för dess livslopp är bladens förmåga att klara av intorkning, utan att såsom blomväxternas blad vissna och dö. Stensötans blad rullar ihop sina flikar och intar torrställning, för att åter breda ut sig när luften blir fuktig igen eller när det kommer nederbörd. Stensötan har fått sitt namn av sin ätbara, söta rot.
När du ändå besöker Hjorted, passa på att göra ett besök på mopedmuseet som ligger strax intill och du får uppleva vackra mopeder i fantastisk miljö och en känsla av 50-tal.

In Västervik there is 18 pieces of municipal sewage treatment plants which Hjorted is one of those. Sludge, screenings and sand from waste disposal plants taken care at Målserum. After composting the sludge can be used as a structural material to cover the old landfill. Sure sludge can be returned to agriculture.

Stensötans leaf curl their tabs and takes a dry position, to be spread when the air becomes moist again, or when it will rain. Stensötan is named by its edible, sweet root.
While you're in Hjorted, take the opportunity to make a visit to the museum scooter lying nearby and you will experience beautiful bikes in fantastic surroundings and a sense of the 50's.
