Dette er den 2. cachen i ein serie om Trekantsambandet.
Trekantsambandet knytter øyene Bømlo og Stord til fastlandet i Sveio.
Bømlabrua (998 m) er den femt lengste hengebrua i landet. Høgast i Trekantsambandet ragar brutårna på Bømlofjordbrua - 105m over havet.

Turen kan nesten tas som ein “drive thru” men det anbefales å parkere i ein av endene og sykkle eller gå mellom dei ulike cachene for å få mest ut av turen. Det er gang og sykkelvei heile veien.

This is the 2. cache in the series about ”Trekantsambandet”
“Trekantsambandet” are the connection between the island Bømlo and Stord to the mainland at Sveio.
The Bømlabridge (998metres) are the fifth longes hanging bridge in the country. The highest bridgetower at “bømlabridge” is 105metres over the sea.

The series is almost a drive thru but we recomend to park at one end and walk or ride a bike between the caches to get the most out off the trip. There is a walk and bike road next to the road.

Historien del 2:
Opninga av Trekansambandet markerte også slutten på ein lang epoke med arbeid for å knytta øyene samman.
Den første me veit som ville knytte øyene samman var Finn Havnerås som allerede i 1960-åra la fram planar om det han kalla Øyavegen for formasnnskapet i Fitjar. Han ynskte traseen frå Kalveid i Fitjar via Brandasund (som den gong var ein del av Fitjar kommune) til Rolfsnes på Bømlo. I desse planane var det 11 bruer og steinfyllingar som måtte til.

The story part 2:
The opening of ”trekantsambandet” also marked the end of a long period of people working to connect the islands together.
Finn Havnerås was the first person known to work with plans of connecting the island. Already in the 1960’s he came forward with a plan he called “øyavegen” for the politicians in Fitjar. He wanted the connection to go from “kalveid” in Fitjar over Brandasund (which were a part of Fitjar county back then) to “Rolfsnes” at Bømlo. In these plans there were 11bridges and stonefilling needed
