To find this cache, you will need to either hike or mtn-bike the new Columbia Headwaters trail.
To find the trail-head, start in downtown Canal Flats, at the junction of Burns Ave. and Grainger Rd.
Head NORTH on Grainger until it's junction with Beatty Ave. Follow Beatty WEST to it's very end, and then head NORTH on the old air-strip for 0.57km. The trail head is located at 50.163517 -115.829000.
The wide gravel trail (wheel-chair accessible) wanders through the forest for about 800m, with interpretive signs along the way. At the trail's terminus, stand at the final interpretive sign, and look SOUTH to a young healthy spruce, near the water. 20 paces and you're there. From the cache,
it's only 10m to the exact headwaters of the mighty Columbia River.
For added challenge, canoe to this spot beginning at geocache GC29XWE
