Geocache Description:

Playground + deer + view + cache = a really nice family activity

Gan HaKipod (Hedgehog Park) is at the entrance to Mitzpeh Naftoach and the Valley of Deer in Northwest Jerusalem. The park, named after the shape of the slide at the entrance, has a great playground with picnic tables, and further down the hill is the entrance to the Ramot forest with trails and a sculpture walk with works from local residents. Here you can see herds of deer, and even foxes and snake eagles. The deer are used to humans, and have no issues romping around in our presence. The cache is at the edge of the forest, where there is also a nice view of Jerusalem.
Cache contains log book and some toys, no pencil.

Directions here: From Golda Meir Blvd turn at the traffic light onto Yigal (Alon) St, and make a left onto HaHoresh. Follow the street to Gan HaKipod on the left.
Across the street from the park is a small supermarket and a pizza place, but the bathroom tends to be out of service unless of course you buy something…
