A short four stage multicache in the Breakneck Hill Conservation Land area in Southborough, Massachusetts. The total hike is probably a little over half a mile. The trails here are very wide, and while no motorized vehicles are allowed, biking can certainly be fun. The trail may seem a little steep at the beginning, but after that it is almost completely flat. I fear this cache will be more difficult in winter, and probably should not be attempted under snow cover.
Breakneck Hill is a beautiful area. There are some very nice trails, complete with a fantastic picnic location with a nice view (right by stage 2). Breakneck Hill is renowned for its famous Oreo Cows, brilliant black and white cows that graze the hill and interact with hikers. While going into their pasture is not allowed, the cows have been known to graze right next to the electric fence separating them from the hikers. If cachers enjoy the cows, they are encouraged to make donations to the cows' food fund at this site.
This multicache shouldn't be too difficult. While there are four stages, two are located less than 0.15 miles from each other. I tried to be creative with the coordinates at each stage, but this still shouldn't be all that difficult for geocachers.
Please return all stages the way you found them, and hide with natural camo. For the final, please ensure the lid is completely on. It should be a snug fit. Don't let water get in and ruin other cachers' fun. Be careful too, there are some big thorns around the final. Thank you!
Update 6/14/2012: Team Periwinkle has made a trail map of Breakneck Hill and surrounding area that is downloadable for GPS! You can download it here.
