Olle Odin

Has come to rest here up at Tarn Moor

He was a man who spent much of his life Roaming the UK spreading his Goodness and Wisdom alike. Love and Respected by all who had met him.

Odin was all knowing and all seeing, and much of his knowledge and wisdom was hard won.

In his later years after he discovered that he had contracted Hepatitis C over 30 years ago, he dedicated his life to the support of people with Hep C (HCV), in West Yorkshire and across the rest of the UK. Speaking at Conferences and lobbying the Government to recognise this Silent Killer and take it seriously.

Hepatitis C is a disease that can effect anyone. One could have contracted HepC if they had a blood transfusion or organ transplant before July 1992 at an NHS facility, as un-screened blood and blood products were used before 1992. People who have been to foreign countries where Needles in Hospitals were used more than once without proper sterilisation, Or having a tattoo when again the needles were not sterilised properly.

Nowadays Hep C is mainly transmitted when sharing needles through drug use or sharing Paraphernalia to snort Cocaine etc including rolled up bank Notes. Or even a needle stick injury whilst working for the good of people in our Hospitals.

Hepatitis C is a blood born virus that can prematurely end your life, due to Cirrhosis of the Liver or even Liver Cancer. There is NO Vacine . However there are some treatments that may or may not work.

Hepatitis C cannot be caught from kissing or other personal contacts, it can be solely caught through blood to blood contact.

It is a very Tranquil place to visit where you can wander around or maybe sit on one of the benches and take some time to remember some loved ones as you listen to the sound of the Birds and the Countryside

This is a Disabled Friendly Cache, However it is recommended to bring along an able-bodied companion.

The road here is narrow, however just down from the Cache Site, there is a passing place big enough for 2 cars, or alternatively there is a Pub, "The Craven Heifer" which you are sure to see, where there is no problem to park your car there for a while. You can even take your Caravan and stay the night in the Pub Car Park. They do serve very good food and good ale. But don't forget Drinking and Driving don't mix. It is a flat smooth surface road and the cache is withing 3 feet from the side of the road. Please take care to replace the cache as you find it and to ruffle up any trampled grass and roadside plants.
