Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the pedestrian walkway between Fairmount Blvd and Chesapeake Ave on the public stairs in SW Portland. The name Goat Trail is used by locals when referring to Chesapeake. Fairmount Blvd is a scenic 3.5 mile loop that circles Council Crest commonly used for biking and jogging, although the blind curves make it a little tricky at some points considering the absence of sidewalks. The cache will be directly on the pedestrian trail. Not difficult terrain, stairs on one side and a sloped path on the other. There is a natural spring going over the path right off the stairs so it can be slightly muddy all year round, but it is not anything to worry about. The best place to park would probably be across Fairmount from the trail on Wapato Ave. You will then be directly across Fairmount from the public stairs (between the guard rails) at SW Trail #1. It is best not to drive down Chesapeake if you are unfamiliar. It is a tricky little street and there will be no parking at the trail head, but if you do find yourself down there park on Melville. You'll see another sign for SW Trail #1. The hint is very telling. You might only want to use it if you are stuck. This is my first hide. Original item: tech deck.
