The thistle is Scotland's national flower and if Bonelli Park had an official flower it would certainly be the thistle. These things are everywhere, especially around the hills south of the lake.
We like to ride our mountain bikes up and down the trails over here quite a bit. A while back, I was speeding downhill on the fire road, lost control on a hard-packed dry mud hole, and to avoid a crash I ran off road into a patch of thistles, although it saved me from an actual crash, I was picking thorns out for a week!
Hope you enjoy Puddingstone as much as we do. Happy hunting!
