While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

Nearby Jarlsberg horse racing track is one of the Oslo fjord's most beautiful bird watching tower.

Ilene nature reserve west of Tönsberg city is protected as a Ramsar Site. Ramsar Convention is an international agreementfor management of important wetland areas. Nearly 300 bird species has been observed in Ilene and Presterödkilen (also near Tönsberg) nature reserves combined. This underscores the area's unique importance as bird habitat. The reserve is about 905 acres, of which approx. 625 acres are water surface area.

Like ved Jarlsberg travbane ligger et av Oslofjordens flotteste fugletårn.

Ilene naturreservat vest for Tønsberg sentrum er vernet som ett Ramsarområde. Ramsarkonvensjonen er en internasjonal avtale om forvaltning av viktige våtmarksområder. Nærmere 300 fuglearter er observert i Ilene og Presterødkilen naturresarvat til sammen. Dette underbygger områdenes unike betydning som fuglelokaliteter. Reservatet er på ca. 905 dekar, hvorav ca. 625 dekar er vannareal.

Følg Grevestien frem til tårnet. Mengder med knoppsvaner, grågjess, krikk- og toppender og vadefugler som rødstilk, tjeld, gluttsnipe. Avslutt med en runde innom Gullkrona naturreservat ved Jarlsberg hovedgård, flott og gammel edelløvskog der skogbunnen er dekket av et teppe med hvitveis!
