This location is known as Windy Point. A nice view of the Verde Valley and of Camp Verde. The location is easily accessible from Salt Mine Rd. The hike to the cache is just a few minutes from the road. There is no trail to the cache but the terrain is relatively flat from the road to the cache. There are numerous mesquite bushes and some cacti, but they are fairly easy to step over or walk around. As with any cache in this area, watch out for snakes, fire ants, etc.
The cache is a typical green surplus ammo box. We started it off with a few items we found locally: small football, 2 decorative tiles, road runner magnet, AZ state magnet, 2 arrowheads (fake), and a small Kokopelli figure. A log book with pen and pencil inside a ziplock bag are also included.
