VERY IMPORTANT: READ THIS PLEASE BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THE CD WALKS SERIES!
I am sick to death of geocacher's who constantly put in their logs on this series "log too wet to sign". Please apply GEOCACHING ETIQUETTE and carry spare logs of ALL SIZES with you. Then, instead of complaining to me about it, all you have to do is replace the wet paper log with a new one and that helps to keep this 'easy to find' series going. You can download FREE LOGS HERE: http://www.techblazer.com/geocaching-log-sheets/ Thank you for being a considerate geocacher! Snake Plissken 4th April 2016 This cache is the first in the Charlton Down Walks series (CD Walks). There are 18 cache`s placed over an approximately 4 mile circuit around the footpaths and bridleways of what was once the Dorset Mental Asylum known as Herrison Hospital. It should take no longer than around 3 hours over undulating terrain, although you may find the first hill between No 1 and 2 a little steep. The rest of the circuit is relatively easy although unsuitable for wheelchairs I`m afraid. You can park your car in the lay-by and do the whole circuit from here! However, better parking is located in the centre of the village outside the 'Central' Shop, open 7am to 9pm for drinks and chocolate etc The cache`s range from Micro through Small to Regular and are designed to be pretty easy to find although you will have to think outside of the ordinary for some of them. There is no bonus cache just the achievement of completing all 18!!!!!!!! WARNING! The series is located in the Dorset countryside. In the Spring and particularly Summer months there are LOTS & LOTS of STINGING NETTLES!. So, if you don't like getting stung then do the series in the Winter months. You have been warned!!!!!!!! Good luck and enjoy the wonderful countryside. SNAKE PLISSKEN
