This cache is NOT really on an island, but is located on St. Lawrence University land just south of the village of Canton.
Located in Canton, the St. Lawrence County seat, you can pick up your Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail Guidebook at the same time you do this cache - if you so choose.
Please stay on trails until you are near the cache, which is just off of a trail.
You are looking for a standard Ammo can. It is just a short hike. NOTE: Since some stole the ammo can, but left the rest of the cache - it is now a Lock & Lock container.
Parking is on the west side of CR 27 just south of the village of Canton. There is a beach closing sign and two brown gates, but you will not get to the beach, and hiking and mountain biking is permitted on the trails
