This marina is at the entrance to the beautiful Porirua Harbour and is on the door step to Cook Strait. A lot of yachties, launches, kayakers and powerboats will pass through or by the entrance each week as they head out for a bit of time on the water.
If attempting to navigate your way out or into the marina, it would not be recommended to use this waypoint to make the entrance, as you'll find yourself a tad 'high and dry' - and probably have a rather expensive repair job to do!
A recommendation: If you're a committed cacher and are attempting this in darkness, please bring a lantern to light your way. While there is a trail to begin with, this does run out and you will have to 'rock hop' to reach your final destination. The terrain rating of 3 reflects the difficulty of crossing the rocks. Also as there are residents living on their yachts in the marina, please don't give the cache location away.
The cache is a small 500ml sistema container in a camo bag and contained the following items when placed:
Please NOTE that you must sign the logbook for each individual cachers or proof of a photo for group logs, otherwise your log may be deleted. It would be appreciated if you would please hide the cache exactly how you found it, as we really don't want it to get muggled.
